Who is Vincent?

Recently when ironing my clothes, I noticed this.

Vincent????

Another Vincent

The last time I checked my IC, the name written there is still Ted. Now that I've discovered the 'Vincents,' I am a bit reluctant to wear it. It feels really weird wearing clothes with other people's names written on it.

Can't make this one out but doesn't look like Vincent

Are my clothes seeing someone else I should know about?

Breakfast of Champions

Usain Bolt winning the gold and breaking the world record for the 100m

BEIJING — Usain Bolt celebrated his coronation as the world’s fastest man 20 meters early, throwing out his arms and thumping his chest. But he still obliterated the world record in the 100 meters Saturday night, turning his Olympic gold medal performance into a show of astounding talent. (LINK)

So how did the fastest man in the world prepare for his race?

"I woke up at 11, then I had lunch," Bolt says. "Some nuggets," he says. Yes, the greasy McDonald's kind. "And then I pretty much went back to my room, and slept again, for like two hours. Then I went back, got some more nuggets." It's the breakfast, lunch and dinner of champions. (LINK)

You've heard it from the man himself...
1) Wake up late.
2) Eat junk food.
3) Take more naps.
4) Eat more junk food.

I'm going to be a champion starting from today.

3 Bound Mice

When it comes to catching rats, I've always had the best results with rat glue. There are lots of restaurants near to my work place and they like to pop by make a mess whenever they have the time.

Recently the rats weren't falling for the trap. Before this it always had a 100% success rate. So were the rats getting smarter? After 3 tries of failure, we re-evaluated the situation. Everything that we have set from Day 1 were all constant except for the food. So one of my staff suggested that the food was not enticing enough. That made sense...since the bait used for the trap has always been leftovers from my dinners. We've always used cha kuey teow before this but I've been on a bit of a healthy eating plan lately. The low fat tuna chunks probably weren't that inviting.

Having agreed on a new strategy, we tried again with toppings from a pizza and man did it work.

Heheh...I guess this makes up for the past 3 failures.

Hmm...looking at our political situation now, I guess we're too late. They're already in charge.

(Can't Get No) Satisfaction?

‘Then I realized that it is good and proper for a man to eat and drink, and to find satisfaction in his toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given him – for this is his lot. Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work – this is a gift of God.’

I was listening to one of John Frusciante's (pic above) solo when the quote above (believed to be from the wise King Solomon) popped into my mind. Frusciante is a brilliant guitarist, well maybe not as elaborate in his techniques as Steve Vai or Joe Satriani, but the way he puts his soul and energy into his songs makes up for it. He's successful in his career, has made it big and probably living the good life - but is he happy? I probably will never know the answer to this unless I am Frusciante himself.

As for me, I’ve not made it big yet, am doing alright with my career and living a relatively simple life. Being a community pharmacist is at times very challenging and at times very boring and mundane but that’s something we all have to deal with. After 10 years of marriage to your spouse, will you tell him/her that it is so boring to see their face everyday? No, you deal with it! Look forward to new challenges and experiences together. However, being satisfied and happy with your work doesn’t mean having no ambitions or staying stagnant either.

I do not know if I will be working the same job 10 or even 5 years from now, but I want to learn to appreciate it. Every night when I lie down to sleep, I want to be able to say that I'm pleased with my work today.

Hanky Panky

Proton better have a good answer for this. They sold MV Augusta for 1 Euro some time back and now Harley buys it for $109 million?
